ROCKY MOUNTAIN, also known as GHOST MOUNTAIN, takes place near the end of the American Civil War. A detachment of Confederate Calvary, led by Captain Lafe Barstow (Flynn) crosses the state line into California under covert orders from General Robert E. Lee to rendezvous at Ghost Mountain with outlaw Cole Smith. The soldiers were instructed to place the flag atop the mountain, and though their mission failed, the heroism played the these gallant men honored the cause for which they valiantly fought.
